What This Will Be

This blog will be a place for anything automation and orchestration from end to end solutions for spinning up VMs and instances both locally (in my lab) and in the public cloud. I will also be utilizing microservices, SaaS and PaaS where they fit or to tell a story around infrastructure and application architecture in an automated landscape.

I will try to cover many solutions of each of the product types, such as HP Operations Orchestration and vRealize Orchestration among others in the orchestration realm on to vRealize Automation or ServiceNOW as a service catalog consuming microservices from the orchestration engine and compute/storage/network from both my lab and AWS, for example. Within the different product groups, I will draw out the pros and cons, in my opinion of what I like/dislike about them and give honest feedback while providing the source code to most of my solutions that I demo.

What This Will Not Be

A place to find guides on how to install or configure software packages. There are already a TON of really good blogs on how to install Windows IIS 8.5 and change the default port. (tongue in cheek) But, seriously, this will not be a place for install guides on products that fall into the ‘Automation’, ‘Orchestration’ and ‘Cloud’ spaces.

Adam! Can you do this?!

There are more Cloud Management Portals, Service Catalogs, Orchestration tools and various combobulations of all of them than I can keep track of. If you’d like for me to blog about your SaaS solution, a piece of hardware (I don’t do hardware, but what I do is the API that talks to the hardware) or a new and super fancy CMP, send me and email at [email protected].
